BC-LI-0186 is a synthetase inhibitor that has been shown to be an effective chemotherapeutic agent against various cancers. Specifically, BC-LI-0186 is effective against human liver cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. It also induces autophagy, which may be due to its ability to inhibit protein synthesis. BC-LI-0186 has been shown to have anti-infective properties against bacteria, fungi, and viruses. The mechanism of action of BC-LI-0186 is not known, but it has been proposed that it may act as a death receptor agonist or antagonist by binding with the death receptors on the cell surface or inside the cell. This drug also interacts with rapamycin treatment for cancer and may be able to reverse rapamycin resistance.
