5,6-Dimethoxy-2-(piperidin-4-yl)methylindan-1-one is a chemical compound that is used as a stabilizer for epigallocatechin. It is also used in the detection of urine samples for pharmacopeia. The compound has been shown to be an impurity in donepezil, which may be due to its ability to bind with metal ions. This chemical substance has been found in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies on patients who have taken donepezil and dimethylthiourea.
