1,3-Diaminopropane dihydroiodide (1,3-DAPDI) is a chemical that is produced by combining two chemicals: 1,3-diaminopropane and hydroiodic acid. It is a colorless solid with a melting point of about 100°C. 1,3-DAPDI can be used to absorb substances in the environment that are toxic or unpleasant smelling. It absorbs odors from substances such as urine, feces, and vomit. 1,3-DAPDI has also been shown to be resistant to high temperatures and alkali metals like potassium hydroxide (KOH).
