CARM1-IN-1 is a novel small molecule that has been reported to inhibit tumor growth in vivo. CARM1-IN-1 reportedly inhibits the expression of CARM1, which is an enzyme involved in cancer cell proliferation and tumorigenicity. In vitro assays have shown that CARM1-IN-1 inhibits tumor growth by methylating DNA and inhibiting interactions between tumor cells and their surrounding stroma. Functional studies have also demonstrated that CARM1-IN-1 inhibits tumor growth in mice by inhibiting the interaction between CARM1 and another protein called CXXC4, which is involved in cell division.
