4,4'-Azobis(4-cyanovaleric acid) is a colorless to light yellow liquid that is soluble in water. It is a versatile building block for the preparation of complex compounds and has been used as a reaction component for the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and research chemicals. 4,4'-Azobis(4-cyanovaleric acid) has been shown to be an effective catalyst in reactions involving the formation of amides or esters.
