2-(Methylsulfinyl)pyridine is a biomolecular that binds to metal ions. It has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of sulfoxidases and pyrithione reductase, which are enzymes that catalyze the oxidation of sulfides and pyrithione, respectively. 2-(Methylsulfinyl)pyridine is an electron donor, with an electronegativity of 1.9.
