It is also found in the liver, kidney and brain. 3-Hydroxyaspartic Acid has been shown to be an active ingredient in the treatment of skin diseases such as psoriasis. This amino acid can be used to activate protein synthesis in tissue culture by binding to calcium ions. 3-Hydroxyaspartic Acid also has a role in the production of fatty acids and epidermal growth factor, which are important for cellular metabolism and skin cell production.
