TCH-165 is a new chemical entity that has been shown to have anti-cancer properties. It inhibits the activity of the protease cathepsin B, which is involved in cancer progression and tumor growth. TCH-165 also enhances autophagy, a process by which cells clear damaged proteins and organelles that are no longer needed. TCH-165 has been shown to increase protein degradation in human cells, suggesting it may be used for the treatment of diseases associated with protein accumulation such as Parkinson's disease or Alzheimer's disease.
