Descrição:XTT is a tetrazolium compound that can be used to measure the activity of enzymes. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of tumor cells in vitro and in vivo. XTT can also be used as an antibacterial agent against C. glabrata and as an anthelmintic drug against tapeworms. This compound is not active against other bacteria, such as E. coli or S. aureus, because they are resistant to oxidative injury and have high levels of ABCG2 (ATP-binding cassette G2), which prevents intracellular accumulation of XTT.
