Descrição:Disopyramide is a pharmacological agent that belongs to the class of agents known as antiarrhythmics. It is used in the treatment of ventricular arrhythmias, and has been shown to be effective in patients with congestive heart failure. Disopyramide has a high affinity for the ryanodine receptor and blocks intracellular calcium release from the sarcoplasmic reticulum by binding to this site. It also has an effect on atrial contractility, leading to increased heart rate, and a minimal toxicity profile. The drug does not cause hypoglycemia or structural cardiac disease in animals.
