3-Acetyl-2-methylquinoxaline-13C6 is a functionalized aldehyde that has been synthesized from 3-chloroacetyl-2-methylquinoxaline. It has been shown to have antitubercular activity, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the synthesis of DNA and RNA by inhibiting protein synthesis. 3-Acetyl-2-methylquinoxaline-13C6 also has exciplex properties, which are formed in the presence of amines and xylene. This compound can be used as an intermediate in organic synthesis.
