Informação sobre produto
Disodium 2-amino-3-(benzenesulfonylsulfanyl)propanoate (DAPS) is an amino acid that is naturally found in the body. It reacts with sulfhydryl groups and disulfide bonds to form stable, fluorescent adducts. DAPS can be used as a labeling agent to study the structure of proteins and enzymes by reacting with cysteine residues or disulfides. This reaction occurs at physiological pH, so it does not require any chemical modification of the protein. DAPS reacts with albumin in serum to form stable adducts, which are detectable by fluorescence. The binding of DAPS to albumin can also be detected using a spectrophotometer at 280 nm due to the increased absorbance. The stability of these reactions makes DAPS a useful reagent for investigating protein structure and function in living cells.
