Descrição:HX600 is a synthetic retinoid that is structurally similar to natural vitamin A. It has inhibitory properties against the inflammatory response and is used for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease. HX600 inhibits neuronal death by activating microglia cells, which are immune cells of the central nervous system. The molecule has also shown promise in the treatment of autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis by preventing inflammatory responses. This drug blocks the response elements in genes that regulate inflammatory responses, decreasing prostaglandin production and inhibiting cell proliferation. HX600 also has hydroxyl group, which can be reduced to form an alcohol group or oxidized to form a carboxylic acid group. Restenosis may be caused by either inhibition of vascular smooth muscle cells or inhibition of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), which promotes new blood vessel growth.
