Mudanpioside C is a natural substance extracted from the plant Salvia miltiorrhiza, which has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries. It has been shown to have antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria such as Bacillus subtilis and Staphylococcus aureus. Mudanpioside C also has an anti-inflammatory effect and may be useful for the treatment of inflammatory diseases. The chemical composition of mudanpioside C has been found to be mainly composed of phenylpropionic acid, phenylacetic acid, and phenylbutanoic acid. Acetate extraction was found to be the most efficient way to isolate this substance from Salvia miltiorrhiza. Mudanpioside C can be identified using chemometrics with two-dimensional principal component analysis (PCA) and linear discriminant analysis (LDA).
