2'-Hydroxylupalbigenin is a chemical substance that belongs to the group of flavonoids. It is a potent inhibitor of tyrosinase activity, which is an enzyme necessary for the production of melanin in the skin. 2'-Hydroxylupalbigenin has been shown to have hepatoprotective effects in vitro and in vivo, as well as anti-inflammatory properties. It also inhibits bacterial growth by binding to the prenyl group on the bacterial cell wall, where it prevents new cell wall synthesis. This leads to cellular death by inhibiting protein synthesis and cell division.
