Descrição

Piscerythrone is a flavonoid with a coumaronochromone skeleton that is found in many plants. It is an intermediate in the biosynthesis of isoflavones and it can be used as a precursor for other compounds such as luteone, hydroxyl group, jamaicin, and sumatrol. Piscerythrone has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis. It also has strong antioxidant activity and shows some antiviral effects against herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1).
