Diethylamine NONOate diethylammonium salt is a potent immunostimulant that has been shown to stimulate the proliferation of polymorphonuclear leucocytes, which are important in the immune response. Diethylamine NONOate diethylammonium salt has also been shown to have an anti-tumour effect by inhibiting the growth of solid tumours and suppressing the activity of reactive oxygen species. This drug has been used in vivo models for blood pressure monitoring and toxicity studies. Diethylamine NONOate diethylammonium salt has also been shown to be cytotoxic, as it increases cytosolic calcium levels and causes locomotor activity changes.
