Vismiaquinone is a natural compound that exhibits anti-cancer and anti-bacterial properties. Vismiaquinone has been shown to be effective against leukemia cells and pancreatic cancer cells, inhibiting the proliferation of these cells. It also has antibacterial activity against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Clostridium perfringens. Vismiaquinone is active against human epidermoid carcinoma cells in vitro, which may be due to its ability to stimulate the production of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and other cytokines. Animal studies have shown that vismiaquinone can inhibit the development of metastasis by reducing blood supply to the tumor.
