Kaempferol-3-o-galactoside is a flavonol glycoside that has antioxidative properties. It also inhibits mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase and prevents the oxidation of glucose, which may help to maintain the mitochondrial membrane potential. Kaempferol-3-o-galactoside has been shown to be cytotoxic to cancer cells in vitro and in vivo, with a significant apoptotic effect on these cells. This compound also demonstrated inhibitory effects on the growth regulators of camptotheca acuminata and chemical study showed that it inhibited the growth of cancer cells by inhibiting inhibitor compounds that are involved in cell proliferation.
