Namino-desmethyl rivastigmine (NDMR) is an impurity of the drug Rivastigmine. It is a metabolite of rivastigmine and can be found in human plasma. Namino-desmethyl rivastigmine is an analytical standard for HPLC and has been used as a pharmacopoeia reference substance for drug product impurities. It is also used as an impurity standard for the detection of active metabolites of rivastigmine in urine, plasma, and cerebrospinal fluid. Namino-desmethyl rivastigmine was first synthesized in 1979 and has been shown to have similar pharmacological properties to its parent compound.
