(R)-Hesperetin is a protein kinase inhibitor that has shown promise in the treatment of cancer. It is an analog of hesperidin, a flavonoid found in citrus fruits, and has been shown to inhibit the activity of cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs), which are involved in cell cycle regulation. This inhibition leads to apoptosis, or programmed cell death, in cancer cells. (R)-Hesperetin also inhibits the growth of tumor cells by blocking the activity of specific proteins involved in their proliferation.
