Applications D-threo-(-)-2-Amino-1-(4-(nitrophenyl-d4))-1,3-propanediol is an intermediate in the synthesis of Chloramphenicol-d5 (C325033), the labeled analogue of Chloramphenicol (C325030), which has a broad spectrum of activity against Gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. It is also antibacterial, and antirickettsial.
