CAS:Controlled ProductMephedrone is a synthetic stimulant that is structurally related to cathinone, which can be found in the khat plant. Mephedrone is also known as 4-methylmethcathinone (4-MMC). It has been detected in wastewater and sewage sludge from treatment plants and has been shown to inhibit serotonin uptake. Mephedrone hydrochloride has also been shown to have psychostimulant effects, including increased locomotor activity and an increase in dopamine levels. The molecular docking analysis revealed that mephedrone binds to the dopamine transporter with high affinity and inhibits its function by blocking the transporter's binding site. The binding of mephedrone to the transporter causes a conformational change in the transporter protein, which increases its affinity for dopamine molecules. This leads to increased dopamine release and decreased reuptake of released dopamine into neurons, leading to an increase in extracellular concentrations of dopamine. Mephedrone hydrochlor
