CAS:3-Hydroxycarbofuran is a carbamate pesticide that inhibits acetylcholinesterase, an enzyme that breaks down the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. 3-Hydroxycarbofuran is used in analytical chemistry to measure the concentration of pesticides and herbicides in water and soil samples. This chemical has been shown to inhibit the replication of influenza A virus in vitro, as well as inhibiting the growth of human cancer cells at high concentrations.
