Descripción:
Dapsona, con el número CAS 80-08-0, es un antibiótico sulfonamida aromático utilizado principalmente en el tratamiento de la lepra y ciertos tipos de dermatitis, como la dermatitis herpetiforme. Es un polvo cristalino blanco a blanco amarillento que es ligeramente soluble en agua y más soluble en disolventes orgánicos como el etanol y la acetona. Dapsona funciona inhibiendo la síntesis de folato bacteriano, ejerciendo así sus efectos antimicrobianos. Su fórmula química es C12H12N2O2S, y tiene un peso molecular de aproximadamente 240.3 g/mol. Dapsona es conocido por sus propiedades antiinflamatorias, lo que lo hace efectivo en el tratamiento de condiciones autoinmunes de la piel. CAS:<p>Dapsone is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that is used to treat various types of infectious diseases and skin disorders. It acts by blocking the synthesis of dihydrofolic acid, which leads to inhibition of bacterial growth. Dapsone inhibits the activity of monoethyl ether reductase (NADH) in human polymorphonuclear leukocytes, which slows the production of hydrogen peroxide and prevents oxidative damage to cellular components. It has been shown to be effective against both erythema multiforme and chronic dermatitis herpetiformis with minimal side effects. The use of dapsone may be helpful in diagnosis as it can inhibit polymerase chain reactions that are specific for squamous cells.
