Los nucleósidos son compuestos formados por una base nitrogenada unida a una azúcar (ribosa o desoxirribosa). Cuando un grupo fosfato se añade al nucleósido, se forma un nucleótido. Estos compuestos son fundamentales en la biología celular, ya que los nucleótidos son los bloques básicos del ADN y ARN, responsables de almacenar y transmitir información genética.
