Description :
Doxycycline hyclate est un antibiotique à large spectre appartenant à la classe des tétracyclines, principalement utilisé pour traiter diverses infections bactériennes, y compris les infections des voies respiratoires, les infections des voies urinaires et certaines affections cutanées. Il se caractérise par sa capacité à inhiber la synthèse des protéines dans les bactéries en se liant à la sous-unité ribosomique 30S, empêchant ainsi la croissance et la reproduction des micro-organismes. Doxycycline hyclate est un dérivé semi-synthétique de la tétracycline, qui améliore sa stabilité et son absorption dans le tractus gastro-intestinal. La substance est généralement administrée par voie orale et est connue pour sa demi-vie relativement longue, permettant une posologie une ou deux fois par jour. Elle est également efficace contre certaines infections protozoaires et est utilisée dans le traitement de l'acné et comme prophylaxie contre le paludisme. Les effets secondaires courants peuvent inclure des troubles gastro-intestinaux, une photosensibilité et des effets potentiels sur le développement des os et des dents chez les enfants.
