
Radicali Liberi e Agenti Ossidanti/Riducenti
I radicali liberi sono molecole con elettroni spaiati che possono danneggiare le strutture cellulari, influenzando la stabilità degli ingredienti farmaceutici attivi (API). Questi radicali sono importanti nella formulazione degli API, poiché la loro presenza può incidere sulla stabilità e sull’efficacia del farmaco. Gli agenti ossidanti sono sostanze che facilitano la perdita di elettroni, utili nella produzione di alcuni API, ma che possono anche causare reazioni indesiderate se non vengono adeguatamente controllati. Gli agenti riducenti, invece, possono stabilizzare alcuni composti attivi prevenendone l'ossidazione. Il controllo dei radicali liberi e la gestione degli agenti ossidanti e riducenti sono fondamentali per lo sviluppo di API con una lunga durata di conservazione e un’attività terapeutica efficiente.
