Phenethyl cinnamate is a phenylpropanoid, which has been shown to have significant inhibitory activities against cytochrome p-450. It also acts synergistically with other compounds such as anthranilate and benzoate. Phenethyl cinnamate has been shown to be an antibacterial agent, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the growth of human cancer cells. Furthermore, this compound has been found to have an anti-aging effect and inhibit the growth of bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics.
