Palmitic-d31 acid is a phospholipid that belongs to the group of acyl chains with a fatty acid at the head. The constant of palmitic-d31 acid has been determined to be 1.056x10^-3 cm/sec and its nmr spectra are consistent with a monolayer in aqueous solution. Palmitic-d31 acid can be deuterated, making it useful for determining lipid orientation.
