PhytoLab is one of the leading international manufacturers when talking about natural compounds and references. They offer over 1,500 extensively documented herbal reference substances covering all classes of natural compounds.

In today's newsletter, we would like to introduce two of the most important families in their catalog:

  • Cannabinoids:they are produced by the hemp Cannabis sativaL, a member of the plant family Cannabaceae. This plant produces a group of chemical compounds called cannabinoids which can induce mental and physical effects when consumed. The most prevalent cannabinoids are he psychotropic Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ9-THC), and the pharma-cologically active cannabidiol (CBD).

  • Pyrrolizidine Alkaloids and N-Oxides: common secondary plant metabolites that have been identified in more than 6000 plant species. Pyrrolizidine alkaloids are therefore the most widespread group of natural substances with toxicological relevance for humans and animals. Moreover, due to their widespread they are also a well-known contaminant of various foodstuffs as leaf lettuces, cereals, spices, teas, herbal teas, and honey. Animal feedstuff can be affected as well.

Phytolab catalog includes documented reference substances and standards, some of which are in accordance with the monographs of the USP. All their “Phyproof” reference substances are delivered with a data sheet with the general information of the molecule and a certificate of analysis.

In addition, they offer various services such as custom synthesis and isolation and purificationof substances upon request for specific needs. They can also package products according to your desired quantity.
