Description:The galanin antagonist M35, which binds with high specificity and affinity to galanin binding sites, has been administered to rats to test the functional consequences of the galanin receptor blockade in a spatial learning task. The results suggest that galanin antagonists might provide a new principle in the treatment of dementia and related disorders. M35 (but not M40 or C7) ameliorated cerulein-induced acute pancreatitis in mice.
