The somatostatin-14 analog PRL-3195, 4-Cpa-cyclo(D-Cys-3-Pal-D-Trp-MeLys-Thr-Cys)-2-Nal-NH2, had a high affinity of 5.98 nM for the somatostatin receptor subtype 5 (sst5) (compared to 1.4 nM for somatostatin-14). Therefore, PRL3195 represents the first antagonist with high affinity for sst5.
