Description

Effective in high temperature refractories as a stable binderAluminum oxide, 20% colloidal dispersion is used in dessicators, ceramics, coating materials and electrical insulators. It is an ingredient in sunscreen, and sometimes present in cosmetics such as blush, lipstick, and nail polish. Aluminum oxide is a catalyst in the claus process in hydro desulfurization and some Ziegler-Natta polymerizations. It is widely used as an abrasive, in the automotive industries, cosmetic industries and fiber materials. It is a medium for chromatography in some sodium vapor lamps.
