Product Information
Lanthanum chloride is a precursor for synthesis of lanthanum phosphate nano rods and used in gamma detectors. It is also used as a catalyst for high pressure oxidative chlorination of methane to chloromethane with hydrochloric acid and oxygen. In organic synthesis, lanthanum trichloride acts as lewis acid for the conversion of aldehydes to acetals. This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand.
