Product Information
- 4-Aminophenyl-beta-D-Galactopyranoside
4-Aminophenyl-β-D-galactopyranoside is a substrate for β-galactosidase. 4-aminophenol is released upon cleavage by β-galactosidase. 4-aminophenol can be assayed by electro-oxidation to 4-imino quinone while recording changes in potential or current of a galvanic system. 4-Aminophenyl-β-D-galactopyranoside is also a weak β-D-galactosidase inducer. 4-Aminophenyl-β-D-galactopyranoside can be used in affinity chromatography for the isolation of galactose-binding lectins.
