N-Nitrosodiphenylamine is a highly toxic and carcinogenic substance that is produced during the manufacture of certain pesticides. It has been shown to cause metabolic disorders in wild-type mice, but not in those with a genetic mutation that makes them resistant to these disorders. The LC-MS/MS method was used to detect N-nitrosodiphenylamine in wastewater samples and it was found that the level of this compound was higher than the limits set by the World Health Organization. This compound showed high resistance to nitrite ion and can be detected in matrix effects, such as genotoxic activity. Synchronous fluorescence has been used in vitro assays on rat liver microsomes, liver cells, and soybean trypsin preparations.
