Description:

Octyl benzoate is an aromatic hydrocarbon that is used as a viscosity stabilizer and a p-hydroxybenzoic acid ester. It is used in the production of polyester polymers, glycol ethers, and other chemicals. Octyl benzoate is also used as a catalyst for chemical reactions, such as the Suzuki coupling reaction. The octyl benzoate particle size can be adjusted by changing the temperature or pressure. The octyl benzoate solid catalyst can be made by reacting octyl benzoate with aluminum chloride or titanium tetrachloride in the presence of hydrogen gas.
