Scopolamine is an active substance that belongs to the group of anticholinergic drugs. Scopolamine N-oxide-d3 is a metabolite of scopolamine that is produced by oxidative metabolism by cytochrome P450 enzymes. This substance has been shown in animal models to have anticholinergic effects and inhibit cholinesterase activity. Scopolamine N-oxide-d3 also has been shown to have strong anti-inflammatory effects in vitro, which may be due to its ability to generate oxygen radicals.
