Description:

Benzyl phenylacetate is a chemical compound that is used as a palladium complex in organic synthesis. It has been shown to be an efficient method for the synthesis of ruthenium complexes. Benzyl phenylacetate can also be used for the preparation of film-forming polymers by reacting with fatty acids and acidic ph. The reaction mechanism is similar to that of esterification, but the carboxylic acid group takes place of the alcohol group. Benzyl phenylacetate has been found to react with methyl anthranilate to form chlorobenzene and benzoic acid. The structural formula is C9H10O2.
