Description:

1,4-Dibutoxybenzene is a reactive organic compound that is soluble in organic solvents. It can be hydrolyzed to form the corresponding alcohol and acid. 1,4-Dibutoxybenzene is used as an oxidation catalyst and as a precursor to other organic compounds. The hydroxy group on the molecule makes it susceptible to radiation and oxidation catalysts such as air or pramoxine. 1,4-Dibutoxybenzene has been shown to have epithelial marker activity in vivo and in vitro experiments. This compound also has been shown to inhibit chloride ion flow across corneal epithelium in vivo and histological analysis in vitro. 1,4-Dibutoxybenzene has optical properties that are dependent on its purity.
