2-(Diethylamino)ethyl Methacrylate (DEAME) is a solid catalyst that can be used in the production of nanogels. DEAME is synthesized by the reaction of methacrylate and diethylamine, followed by hydrolysis. This process yields a polymer with reactive groups on its surface that are capable of forming hydrogen bonds with other molecules. It has been shown to have hemolytic activity, which may be due to its ability to form hydrogen bonds with human erythrocytes.
