Description:
N,N-dimethyl-1,2-propanediamine dihydrochloride is a diprotonated ligand that can be synthesized by the reaction of salicylaldehyde and formamide. It is a magnetic compound with a paramagnetic axial ligand. This compound has been shown to bind to anions such as nitrate and chloride. N,N-dimethyl-1,2-propanediamine dihydrochloride also binds to mononuclear metal ions such as copper(II) and zinc(II). In addition, it interacts with other diprotonated ligands in the same manner.
