Description:

Hexachloro-5-norbornene-2,3-dicarboxylic anhydride (HNBDCA) is a reactive anhydride that is used in the production of polyesters. It has been shown to be reactive with water vapor, methyl ethyl, hydroxyl group, and cationic polymerization. HNBDCA can be used as a crosslinker for diphenyl ethers, glycol ethers, and fatty acids. It has been shown to have excellent chemical stability and radiation resistance properties. This anhydride also can be used in the production of polyethyleneimine by reacting with ethylene diamine. The thermal expansion coefficient of HNBDCA is 1.8x10^-4K^-1 which makes it suitable for use in polyurethane foam insulation products.
