Description:
8-Hydroxy-1-naphthalenesulfonic acid is a naphthalene derivative. It has been shown to have photocatalytic activity, which is the ability to produce free radicals and oxidize organic matter when exposed to light. 8-Hydroxy-1-naphthalenesulfonic acid has also been shown to be an insulin-like growth factor (IGF) stabilizer in wastewater treatment. The mechanism of adsorption of this compound onto particles can be explained by ion pairing and particle size. The average diameter of the particles is around 10 nm.
