Benzyl isobutyl ether (BIBE) is a peroxide that is used as an additive in the deodorizing of polymers and textiles. It reacts with hydroxyl groups on the polymer to form ether linkages, and this cross-linking agent has been shown to reduce the permeability of polymers. BIBE can also be used as a chemical nature for benzyl group, which are usually found in natural products such as cinnamaldehyde and linalool. The dry weight of BIBE is about 114.4 g/mol, with an acidic ph of 3.0-3.5. Its viscosity ranges from 1-2 cP at 20 °C to 7 cP at 100 °C, which makes it a good adsorbing agent for acidic monoterpene hydrocarbons. BIBE has a molecular weight of 146 g/mol and its chemical composition includes carbon (C), hydrogen (H), oxygen
