Description:
2,2,4-Trimethylpentan-1-ol is a cyclic peptide that has potent inducers of the human immune system. It is an antimicrobial peptide that can bind to DNA and inhibits bacterial growth. 2,2,4-Trimethylpentan-1-ol has been shown to cause cell lysis and kill bacteria by inhibiting protein synthesis. 2,2,4-Trimethylpentan-1-ol also inhibits the growth of wild type strains of bacteria such as subtilis and upregulates genes that are involved in the production of efflux proteins.
