Diphenylpyraline is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that has been used in the treatment of bronchial asthma. It is also used to treat allergic symptoms, such as hay fever and urticaria. Diphenylpyraline is an allergen, which can trigger an autoimmune disease. Current research shows that diphenylpyraline inhibits the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines by inhibiting Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) signaling pathways. This drug also has long-term efficacy for the treatment of allergic symptoms and can be used for the pharmacological treatment of other conditions such as Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and depression. Diphenylpyraline has been shown to inhibit the growth of Candida albicans in vitro; however, it does not have any in vitro antifungal activity against Aspergillus niger or Aspergillus fumigatus.
