N,N-Diethyl-2-methylbenzene-1,4-diamine (NDMB) is a thione compound that has been shown to have a number of useful properties. It is soluble in hexane, carbon disulphide and acetonitrile and insoluble in water. NDMB has been used to synthesize heterocyclic compounds such as pyridine, furan and dioxolanes. NDMB is also resistant to oxidation by air or light.
