Product Information

1-oxa-8-azaspiro[4.5]decane
Synonyms:
  • 1-Oxa-8-azaspiro[4.5]decan
Description:

1-Oxa-8-azaspiro[4.5]decane is a nociceptive and anti-inflammatory drug that is used in the treatment of pain and bowel disease. It has been shown to be an effective inhibitor of the inflammatory response in animal models. 1-Oxa-8-azaspiro[4.5]decane binds to the m1 receptor and inhibits the inflammatory response by blocking the release of substances such as histamine, serotonin, and prostaglandin E2 from mast cells. This drug has also been shown to have analgesic properties in animal models, with minimal side effects.
1-Oxa-8-azaspiro[4.5]decane is not active against bacteria but it does inhibit uptake of fatty acids by colonic cells, which may account for its anti-inflammatory properties.
